At Kingswell Ivy, we work to ignite intellectual excitement and authentic drive in students as they explore their interests and seek to create meaningful change in the world around them.
Here are the stories of a few of our happy customers!
“The guidance from my mentor. I never thought I would have been able to make such an impact while still in high school. I’m certain that is what allowed me to reach my dream school.
– Sean Park
Sean began working with Kingswell Ivy in his junior year at a public high school in Connecticut. He was an excellent student—he had a 3.9 GPA and a passion for public health. His dream schools were Stanford and Yale.
Seans’s mentor emphasized that Sean should make a difference in underserved communities through his passion for public health. Kingswell Icy helped him to get involved in a public health initiative for younger students in Puerto Rico. With the help of his mentor, he developed a curriculum for middle school students, which included organizing community health screenings, and creating educational materials about disease prevention, and vaccine awareness in local neighborhoods.
Sean’s mentor encouraged him to tie his public health initiative to community action, guiding him and his students in selecting a local nonprofit focused on child wellness to support with the proceeds from their awareness campaign. His project soon grew beyond a single school, expanding to include partnerships with several schools in neighboring districts. Together, they reached hundreds of students and families with health education and preventive care resources. The impact of his work—and the leadership he demonstrated—helped Sean gain admission to Yale, where he plans to study Biology and continue serving underserved communities.
“It’s been really fulfilling to take my passion and share it with others, especially as I learn more about how I can follow my passion long-term!”
– Mohammed
Mohammed began working with Kingswell Ivy during his sophomore year at a private international school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He had a deep and abiding interest in history—especially in the legacy of empire and the impact of colonialism in the Middle East and North Africa. Though he consistently earned top marks and read extensively on his own, he initially struggled to articulate his passion in a way that felt impactful beyond the classroom.
With the guidance of his mentor, Mohammed launched a digital history project that documented oral histories from elders in his extended family and local community. He focused on preserving personal stories related to independence movements, cultural transitions, and the lingering effects of colonial influence across generations. He compiled these narratives into a bilingual online archive designed to serve both students and educators across the region.
The project gained recognition within his school network and was featured in a regional education conference on digital learning and heritage preservation. Through the process, Mohammed honed his research, writing, and leadership skills, while also finding a clear sense of academic direction. He was ultimately accepted to the University of Oxford to read History, where he plans to specialize in imperial and postcolonial studies with the goal of becoming a scholar and educator.
Caroline started working with Kingswell Ivy as a freshman attending a private school in Shanghai. Despite being a top student with a 4.0 GPA, with some interests in business, she was having real issues with settling on a clear academic interest for univeristy.
With guidance Kingswell Ivy, Caroline explored different areas of business through hands-on experiences. She participated in the iGem International Biotech competition and eventually launched a social enterprise that partnered with ethnic minority artisans in Yunnan, China, to market and sell their handcrafted goods online. Caroline led a team of underprivileged students in building a simple e-commerce platform, managing inventory, and creating a storytelling-driven marketing campaign to highlight the artisans’ cultural heritage.
Through this project, Caroline only developed a strong interest in social entrepreneurship but also gained confidence as a leader and problem-solver. The experience helped shape her identity and supplied excellent material for her college application essay. In the end, she was accepted to NYU Stern, where she plans to major in Business and continue building ventures with real-world impact.
“I was so unclear on what direction I would take. Kingswell Ivy supported me to find my passion and develop it. I can’t recommend them strongly enough.”
